In this article, I am going to talk about “world’s most loved drink”
Guess what, I’m talking about…………..
Yes you are right it’s “Tea” Which we used to consume in countless ways.
Well, different tea varieties have a different impact on our mood, some give us energy, while some of them soothes our senses or help us in getting relaxed or simply helps in upliftment of our mood, when we are really not well or feeling low.
This is why everyone needs it badly as it helps to a great extent in controlling our mood swing issue.
In this article, I am going to share 5 tea (Chai) recipes.
- Herbal Tea
- Lemon-Honey Tea
- Chocolate Tea
- Kullhar Tandoori Tea
- Chilled Ice Tea
Why I had included these 5 only; when there are countless ways of consuming tea.
Well the answer is – these 5 recipes are like a must to know -a recipe for everyone.
I had prepared the list keeping in mind:-
- Health-conscious people ( herbal tea and lemon- honey tea )
- Weather (Chilled Ice tea is for the summer season; when we are less interested in tea, due to hot weather, so whatever the season is, you can keep enjoying your tea.
- Tea lover (Kullhar tandoori tea and chocolate tea is for tea lover, who did not mind being fat)
You can choose to prepare any of the tea; as per your requirement, mood and weather.
I would suggest you, try at least once all 5 of them and I am sure you will love it.
So, let’s begin with the first tea recipe:-
Herbal Tea
Ingredients Required:-
Water – 1 Cup, Black pepper – 1 pinch, Cardamom – 1 pinch
Mint – 15-20 leaves and Tulsi / Indian Basil Leaves – 15-20
Lemon juice – ½ tsp, Honey / Sugar – 1 tsp
Process of Preparing Herbal Tea
Step- 1:- Turn on the flame, heat up the saucepan and add one cup of water.
Step -2– While the water is heating; add one pinch of black pepper powder and one pinch of cardamom powder and let it boil for one minute.
Step-3– After boiling for one minute, turn off the flame and add 15-20 mint leaves and 15-20 tulsi leaves.
Step-4– After adding both leaves, quickly give it a stir and cover it, and keep it aside for 2 minutes.
Step-5-After 2 minutes you can serve it. Before serving it, add half teaspoon of lemon. (you can add one teaspoon of lemon also, it’s up to you.)
Step-6– Now, add one tablespoon of honey in the cup to sweeten up and strain your tea in the cup.
At last, before serving add a pinch of black pepper and stir it and your tea is ready to drink.
Combination of Mint leaves, basil, cardamom, black pepper and lemon is amazing.
Lemon-Honey Tea
Ingredients Required:-
1 cup of water
½ tsp tea leaves Sugar
½ tsp Lemon juice 1
2 tsp Honey
Process of preparing Lemon- Honey Tea
Step- 1:- Turn on the flame, heat up a saucepan and add one cup of water.
Step -2– Add half teaspoon of tea leaves; along with tea leaves add half teaspoon of sugar – adding tea and sugar at the same time, will give an amazing colour to this tea.
Step-3– After adding tea and sugar, boil this at medium flame for 2 minutes and after that turn off the flame and add one a teaspoon of lemon juice.
Step-4– Before serving, take your cup and add one and a half tablespoon of honey into it and then strain the tea into a cup and give it a mix and your lemon honey tea is ready to enjoy.

Let’s move to another interesting tea recipe:-
Chocolate Tea
Ingredients Required:-
Water 1/4 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Tea – ¾ tsp
Sugar – 2 tsp
Cocoa powder – ½ tsp
Process of preparing Chocolate Tea
Step- 1– Turn on the flame and add one cup of Milk and one-fourth cup of water to a saucepan.
Step -2– After that add ¾ tsp of tealeaves and along with tea leaves add 2 tablespoons of sugar also.
(You can use less sugar also as per your choice.)
Step-3– After that, once the milk starts simmering, add ½ tsp of cocoa powder to it.
(Quantity of cocoa powder depends on its quality – if it is strong add only one-fourth tsp, otherwise, you can add half a spoon of it)
Step-4– After adding cocoa powder-give it a mix and boil it for another 2 minutes.
Step-5– After that strain it into your cup and your chocolate tea is ready.
This looks similar to normal tea but the taste is amazing…this tea is my all-time favorite tea.
Kullhar Tandoori Tea
Ingredients Required:-
Kulhad / Clay Bowl – 1
Water – 1/4 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Tea – 1 tsp
Sugar -2 tsp
Ginger – ½ inch
Process of Preparing Kullhar Tandoori Tea
To make tandoori tea, at very first, you need a “Kullhar” or a clay bowl.
Step -1- Turn on the flame and heat up the Kullhar on the gas stove, until it is burnt or turns black.
(You can heat up the kullhar in tandoor also, if you have,; it will be much better)
Step-2– For making tea, add one cup of Milk and one the fourth cup of water to a saucepan.
Step-3- After that add one tsp of tea leaves and 2 tablespoon of sugar and add half an inch of grated ginger.
Step-4- After that boil the tea from medium to higher flame
Step-5-In medium to high flame-make the tea by bringing up a boil and after that lowering the flame and cook it for 3-4 minutes
Step-6-After cooking tea for 3-4 minutes turns off the flame, cover it and keep aside.
Step-7-Now for making tandoori chai, take another saucepan and turn on the flame and place the heated kullhar inside the empty saucepan and after that quickly pour the chai-into kullhar that you had prepared.
Step-8-Let it boils for one minute and after that take out the chai from kullhar and now your tandoori tea is ready.
Step-9– Strain the tea into a cup and enjoy the “earthy flavor”
It looks the same as other tea, but the taste is just awesome- once you will have it, you will get addicted to it.
Let’s begin with the last Recipe
Chilled Ice Tea
Ingredients Required:-
Water – 1 cup
Sugar – 2 tsp
Tea – 1 tsp
Ice- 4-5 cubes
Process of preparing Chilled Ice tea
Step-1– Heat up the saucepan and add one cup of water.
Step-2– After that add 2 tablespoons of sugar and then bring this to a boil.
Step-3– Once the water gets a rapid boil, turn off the flame and add one teaspoon of tea leaves.
Step-4– After that quickly stir it, cover it and keep aside for 2 minutes.
Step-5-After that add lots of ice in serving cup as it is an ice tea, without ice there is no ice-tea
At last, quickly strain the tea into a cup and your Chilled Ice Tea is ready.
This tea is great for the hot summer season, you will love it.
